The Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo opened today

Today, April 4th 2023 opened the Bulgari Hotel Tokyo, the latest creation of Bulgari Hotels & Resorts collection, where the gastronomic offer is curated by Chef Niko Romito and by Japanese Chef Kenji Gyoten.

Occupying from the 40th to the 45th floor of the Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, a ultra-skyscraper in the Yaesu 2-Chome North District, the hotel overlooks fascinating history and natural environment of the Imperial Palace and at the same time offers stunning views the city including the Mount Fuji on the horizon. Like all the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, Bulgari Hotel Tokyo interior design has been entrusted to the Italian architecture and interior design practice ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel who conveyed Bulgari’s core values of contemporary design, magnificent craftsmanship and artistic detail to create efficient living spaces reflecting the essence of the Italian most sophisticated style.

Il Ristorante – Niko Romito presents Chef Niko Romito’s unique idea of contemporary Italian cuisine in a seductive restaurant overlooking the city lights. It is the 6th restaurant created for Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, after Beijing, Dubai, Shanghai, Milan and Paris. The idea is to bring worldwide the most representative traditional recipes from the whole country, rewritten according to Niko Romito’s canon of simplicity, essence, purity and lightness.

Tokyo is an incredible city, with a deeply rooted gastronomic culture. Here taste, beauty and simplicity have a profound meaning, where tradition and innovation are continuously intertwined. I don’t know enough of this country yet, but I already feel a very strong connection. Bringing my idea of Italian cuisine here is a challenge that I am excited to undertake. I thank Bulgari, because this project – cultural as well as gastronomic- has been a great opportunity. A big thank you also to Chef Stefano Attardi and Chef Mauro Alosio for their commitment and for transmitting our values to the new team.
Niko Romito

The resident chef is Mauro Alosio, who has been working with Niko Riko Romito for more than four years, in Bulgari Hotel Milano and Shanghai. In the hotel lobby, near the restaurant stands Bulgari Dolci boutique, selling a selection of traditional italian pastries from La Pasticceria – Niko Romito, as well as the Laboratorio Niko Romito’s products and the renowned Bulgari ‘chocolate gem’ delicious creations.

On the 45th floor of the tower, there is the Bulgari Bar, where the handmade mosaic representing a ‘garden of wonders’  frames the counter, and two half-covered outdoor terraces overview of the city. An array of yuzu and lemon plants represent the Japanese and Italian traditions coexisting throughout the Hotel. The bar food menu is signed by Niko Romito.

The celebrations for the opening began yesterday, with Bulgari Group CEO Jean-Christophe Babin hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Governor of Tokyo Yuriko Koike, Italian Ambassador to Japan Gianluigi Benedetti, famed actress Anne Hathaway, the singer and actor Tomohisa Yamashita, Executive Managing Officer of Mitsui Fudosan Co. Yutaka Kawamura, Executive Vice President Bulgari Group Silvio Ursini, General Manager of Bulgari Hotel Tokyo Yuji Tanaka and President of Bulgari Japan Vincent Reynes in attendance.

They were joined soon after by 400 select guests for a party with a signature menu curated by Chef Niko Romito, a live concert by singer Simona Molinari accompanied by a jazz trio, followed by the music mixed by the famous Japanese DJs Ami x Aya and Alisa Ueno.
